Holding of political consultations between Serbian and Iranian MFAs

Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Iran, in which our delegation was headed by State Secretary Nemanja Starović and the Iranian delegation by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani, were held today in Belgrade.
During the talks they confirmed the mutual readiness and interest for intensifying political dialogue, exchange of high-level visits and improvement of cooperation in the fields of mutual interest.
In the meeting, potentials for the improvement of economic cooperation in concrete fields were considered.
The talks were an opportunity for the guests to become familiar with the political and economic situation in Serbia and the region, and from this perspective The Open Balkan Initiative, as an example of successful regional connecting, was presented.
This was also an opportunity to express the gratitude of Serbia for the firm and principled position of Iran on non-recognition of unilateral declaration of independence of “Kosovo“.
