First DPM and FM Ivica Dačić with the Chair of the NATO Military Committee

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić met today with the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, who is in an official visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The two officials exchanged opinions on the current state and perspectives of partner cooperation between the RS and NATO, the security situation in Kosovo and Metohija and the activities of the NATO-led KFOR mission, including issues pertaining to regional, European, and global security.

It was pointed out that regular communication between representatives of the RS and NATO political and military officials is very important, as it brings better mutual understanding, especially concerning issues that are of most interest to the Serbia, as well as stability in the region.

It was especially emphasized that Serbia supports and appreciates the engagement of the International Security Forces (KFOR) in the Province, implemented in the strict, complete and impartial implementation of the mandate that was established and assigned to KFOR based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

Admiral Bauer assessed that the exchange of best practices and knowledge in areas such as energy and environmental security, cyber defence and resilience, protection of critical infrastructure and the fight against terrorism can only improve cooperation between NATO and Serbia.

Both sides stated that Serbia and NATO share a common interest in preserving peace and stability in the region.
