First DPM and FM Ivica Dačić with the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Council of Europe Aleksandra Đurović
The meeting with Ambassador Đurović was primarily devoted to Serbia’s activities in the Council of Europe, especially regarding Pristina’s recent request for admission of the so-called Kosovo to the Council of Europe. It was reiterated that the Statute of the Council of Europe stipulates that the decision on membership is made by a two-thirds majority in the Committee of Ministers.
Ambassador Đurović pointed out that a significant number of countries in the Council of Europe support Serbia’s position.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić called for increased engagement by our representatives in accordance with the national interests, international law, and Resolution 1244 of the United Nations Security Council, and strengthening of relations with CE member states.
