First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić with the US envoy Escobar

Today, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić pointed out that the strategic commitment of the Republic of Serbia was to improve cooperation with the USA in areas of mutual importance so as to achieve stability in the Western Balkans region.

The interlocutors expressed mutual interest in the continuation of the positive development tendency of overall bilateral relations and the additional intensification of political dialogue, that is, the organization of mutual visits by the officials of the two countries.

On that occasion, the interlocutors exchanged opinions on the present situation in Kosovo and Metohija.

The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić  expressed concern over the fact that even nine years after the signing of the Brussels Agreement, the obligations that Priština undertook had not been implemented, especially regarding the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities,.

The Special Envoy Gabriel Escobar expressed his understanding for the views of the Republic of Serbia and promised that the American side will make additional efforts in support of finding a solution to the current situation.
