First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dačić meets with the Ambassador of Malawi
Minister Dačić wished him welcome to Serbia as a new ambassador of the Republic of Malawi in Serbia, assuring him that his work would be successful and contribute to improvement of bilateral relations. He emphasised that this year was a 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations and pointed out that the SFRY and Malawi cooperated closely within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Furthermore, Minister Dačić said that Serbia wanted to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with Malawi in many fields by improving political dialogue and exchanging visits on the highest level in the following period, since this was an opportunity for talks and exchange of opinions of interest for both sides.
He said that the presence of Malawi delegation on the Commemorative Non-Aligned Meeting in Belgrade in October 2021, gave additional impetus to improvement of our relations.
At the end of talks, Minister Dačić wished the Ambassador a successful mission in the Republic of Serbia and assured him that the political dialogue and economic cooperation as well as numerous other forms of cooperation between Serbia and Malawi, would continue to develop to mutual benefit.
Ambassador of Malawi conveyed condolence for recent tragic events in Belgrade and expressed sympathy and solidarity with bereaved families.
He agreed with the assessment of our friendly relations, which should be further improved. He conveyed that the Embassy of Malawi in Berlin, which covers 23 countries, placed Serbia in a group of countries with which it planned to intensify cooperation.
He also thanked for a warm and cordial welcome and expressed readiness to work on preparations for the visit of the Malawi Minister of Foreign Affairs and other officials to Serbia.
