FDPM and FM Dačić spoke with the head of UNMIK

13. Dec 2022.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dačić spoke today with the Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Caroline Ziadeh.

Minister Dačić said that Serbia sees the UN as the most important international organization in the context of preserving territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as that he personally and the Republic of Serbia are committed to continuing cooperation with UNMIK.

Minister Dačić emphasised that the priority of the Republic of Serbia is to achieve compromise solutions for many existential issues in Kosovo and Metohija, given that nine years have passed since the signing of the Brussels Agreement, and there has been no progress in the implementation of the obligations assumed by the other party, primarily in relation to the establishment of the Community Serbian municipalities.

Caroline Ziadeh congratulated Ivica Dačić on his re-appointment as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

She thanked for the support in work and openness to cooperation with the UNMIK Mission and KFOR and expressed her personal commitment to the improvement of regional cooperation, which directly contributes to the reconciliation process.

The two colleagues agreed that all parties face a difficult task, and dialogue is the only way to constructively solve the current problem.
