Dačić meets with Ambassadors of Quint countries to the OSCE

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić met with the ambassadors of the Quint countries to the OSCE in Vienna today.

Minister Dačić and the Quint ambassadors talked about the security situation in Europe, as well as Serbia’s European integration. Minister Dačić particularly emphasised that Serbia appreciated its good cooperation with the OSCE, as one of the most important regional security platforms for dialogue, and the OSCE missions to Serbia. He highlighted the importance of the status neutrality of the OSCE field mission in Kosovo, whose mandate included monitoring of the observance of human rights, community rights and strengthening of democratic institutions.

The situation in Kosovo and Metohija was also discussed, and it was agreed that it was necessary to preserve peace, defuse tensions, and resume the dialogue, which was in mutual interest. Minister Dačić stressed that observance and implementation of agreements which had been signed to date was important to Serbia.

Challenges facing the OSCE in the current geopolitical situation, and the possibilities of overcoming them, were also discussed.
