Washington: Ambassador Đurić met with Congressmen Perlmutter and Mast
During the meetings Ambassador Đurić informed the congressmen about the most important parameters of the investment and infrastructural potential of our country, about the "Open Balkans" regional initiative, as well as about the growing opportunities for comprehensive connections with relevant stakeholders in Serbia.
The talks also included an exchange of opinions on current issues on the international and bilateral agenda, with a particular acknowledgment of the need for a broader engagement in the domain of a stronger economic, academic and scientific cooperation between Serbia and the United States.
Considering the fact that in the US House of Representatives congressmen Perlmutter and Mast represent federal states with a significant Serbian diaspora, another topic that marked both separate talks were the activities and involvement of the Serbian emigrant community in Colorado and Florida in the advancement of bilateral relations .
The meeting with Congressman Perlmutter was also attended by Mr. Steven H. Katich - Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia with the longest tenure in the United States, who has been successfully connecting the Serbian business and academic diaspora in Colorado with their mother country.
