Vienna: Ambassador Rodić visits the Orthodox monastery
It is an Orthodox monastery that started worshiping in 2015 thanks to the monks of Mount Athos.
The foundation stone for the construction of the monastery, which would gather 12 monks, was laid in September 2020 after six years of preparation, but since then nothing has been done on the construction, said the hegumen of the monastery, Pajsije Jung.
The hegumen informed the ambassador of the fact that Christians come to the monastery every day and that the largest number of visitors are people with Serbian origin, stressing that such a monastery should connect the Catholic Church and the whole of Orthodoxy, which is of great importance, while bearing in mind that Orthodox Christians have been living in Vienna since the middle of the 17th century.
Ambassador Rodić praised the commitment to monastic life and determination to spread Orthodoxy to all people who take the time to visit and donate to this monastery.
Among the monks is a monk of Serbian origin, Nektarije, who was proud of the fact that the service takes place in the languages of almost all Orthodox Christians.
