Tokyo: Ambassador Kovač with the Deputy Assistant Minister for European Affairs of the MFA of Japan and special representative for the Western Balkans

Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Japan Aleksandra Kovač met with Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan for European Affairs and Special Representative for the Western Balkans Kimitake Nakamura.

Ambassador Kovač congratulated Ambassador Nakamura on his appointment and expressed her belief in the continuation of the upward trend of overall bilateral relations, with the aim of deepening the connection between the two peoples and countries.

She confirmed her willingness to strengthen political dialogue, exchange visits and economic cooperation, especially in the context of marking the anniversary of 140 years of friendly relations between Serbia and Japan.

The Ambassador expressed her expectation that the improvement of cooperation with Japanese institutions, local authorities, as well as the business sector would continue through the realisation of a series of activities and joint projects.

Ambassador Kovač assessed Japan's support for Serbia's European integration process, within the framework of the Western Balkans Cooperation Initiative, stimulating, stressing that Serbia remained committed to the European path and to continuing its firm commitment to preserving and improving peace and stability in the region.
