Timișoara: The international manifestation "Days of Transfiguration of Serbs in Romania" officially open at the General Consulate
Honorary president of the Union of Serbs in Romania Slavomir Gvozdenović, who is also the main event organizer, laureate of the "Great Bazjaš Charter " and poet Nikola Vujčić and consul Marija Šošić addressed those present.
Writers from the Republika Srpska, Croatia, Germany, France and the Czech Republic, as well as representatives of Matica Srpska, the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Union of Serbs in Romania and prominent Serbs from Romania are taking part as special guests at this year's event aside from writers from Serbia and Romania.
Literary evenings, round tables and several cultural events have been planned during a three-day event, which is unique in its content and significance in both the diaspora and the region. This year, the program includes several places in the counties of Timiš and Karaš Severin, the Danube Gorge and Poljadia where the Serbian population lives: Timișoara, Belobreška, Stara Moldava, Bazjaš, Zlatica, Kusići and Sokolovac.
The central event will take place at the Bazjaš monastery - one of the sources of Serbian spirituality which, according to folk tradition, was founded by Saint Sava eight centuries ago - where the "Great Bazjaš Charter" will be presented to this year's winner, i.e., to poet Nikola Vujčić.
