Skopje: The 110th anniversary of the Battle of Kumanovo marked
The state ceremony, honouring the remains of fallen Serbian soldiers, was organised by the Serbian Government's Committee for Nurturing the Traditions of the Liberation Wars of Serbia and the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Skopje, with the support of the city of Vranje.
In addition to the state delegation, the ceremony was attended by representatives of the Serbian Army and the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, local self-governments of North Macedonia, numerous associations of Serbs from North Macedonia, veterans' associations and associations for nurturing traditions, as well as descendants of fallen Serbian soldiers.
The Battle of Kumanovo, fought on 23-24 October 1912 during the First Balkan War, in which the army of the Kingdom of Serbia won a magnificent victory over the military of the Ottoman Empire, is considered one of the most significant battles in the history of the Serbian people.
