The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Prague, Berislav Vekić, attended the ceremonial opening of the exhibition entitled "Applied Nostalgia: Belgrade - Prague", as part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. The exhibition shows the capitals of Serbia and the Czech Republic, seen through the lens of Czech photographer David Tješinski and Serbian photographer Snežana Krtić.

"Applied Nostalgia" is an exhibition organised by the Ministry of European Integration of Serbia on the occasion of the rotating presidencies of the EU member states to the Council of the EU, where all the similarities of European values and lifestyles of Belgrade and other capitals on the European continent are presented.

The exhibition at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was opened by Assistant Minister for European Integration of the Republic of Serbia Miroslav Gačević, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for Europe Martin Kosatka and member of the Council of the Czech Academy of Sciences David Honis.

"It is my honour to open an exhibition of photographs from the new, 22nd cycle of our long-term project named "Applied Nostalgia" in Prague today, dedicated to Belgrade and Prague. We opened the same exhibition in Belgrade on 25 November and today we are here owing to the cooperation of the ministries of foreign affairs of Serbia and the Czech Republic and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic," said Miroslav Gačević, pointing out that the exhibition also contributed to the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and the Czech Republic.

Martin Kosatka congratulated the authors on the excellent photos that managed to faithfully convey the spirit of Prague and Belgrade. He thanked the Ministry for European Integration for the idea, which is an excellent link between Serbia and the EU member states. He also pointed out that the Western Balkans was a priority of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as that Serbia could count on the support of the Czech Republic on its way to the EU.

David Honis pointed out in his address that he was happy that the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic opened the door for this quality exhibition.
