In a constructive conversation, the interlocutors exchanged views on the fight against the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, cooperation between the two countries in this area and other issues of common interest.

Ambassador Tomašević presented the results of the Government of Serbia in the fight against the corona virus. He also presented the success of Serbia in the process of vaccinating the population against the virus, emphasizing that the goal of the Serbian authorities is to immunize 50% of the population by the end of June.

He especially emphasized that the production of the "Sputnik V" vaccine has started in Serbia, at the Torlak Institute, as well as that the production of the "Sinofarm" vaccine will start in the third quarter of 2021. He also pointed out that he believes that it would be extremely important for Serbia and Romania to sign a Memorandum on mutual recognition of digital certificates on vaccination against the corona virus.

He thanked for Romania's principled position regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia, as well as for the consistent support that Romania provides to Serbia on its European path.

Romanian Minister of Health, Ioana Mihăilă, congratulated Serbia on the success achieved in the fight against the COVID-19 virus. She stressed the interest of the Romanian side in exchanging experiences, especially on how to encourage the population to get vaccinated.
