Ljubljana: Ceremony of Andrić Prize Winners closes the Ivo Andrić Festival

Ivo Andrić Festival, organised by the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Ljubljana, was closed with a presentation of Andrić Prize Winners: author and First Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Slovenia Aleksandar Gatalica and author Ljubica Arsić.
In a fully packed hall of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, the authors informed the audience about the history of the Andrić Prize, which was established by the great writer’s testament, and had been awarded since 1975 for the best short story in Serbian language.
Mr. Gatalica and Ms. Arsić talked about their personal experiences and feelings regarding this notable prize, which they had already won in 1999 and 2005 respectively.
Each of the authors read one new story from their manuscripts.
The evening ended with a Q&A with the audience, mostly about the creative process. The two authors shared their experiences with the writing process, inspiration, and certain creative techniques which are rarely talked about.
