Kinshasa: The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia organizes the Statehood Day reception
The event was attended by more than 200 officials and 53 representatives of diplomatic missions, including representatives of state and city authorities, military representatives, representatives of religious communities, journalists, diplomatic representatives of the United States, Russia, China, Germany, Italy, and many others.
The reception saw the performances of Stella Muleko, student and the beneficiary of the scholarship programme “The World in Serbia” and the local choir which sang the national anthem and two traditional Serbian songs “Marš na Drinu” and “Oj Moravo”.
It is estimated that this was the largest reception organized to date i.e. since 1961, when the diplomatic relations between Serbia and the DRC were first established. In the end, all guests received special gifts symbolising the Republic of Serbia. The national TV broadcaster played the video from the reception in prime time, reporting on the organization of this grand event.
