Honorary Consulate opened in Alanya

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Turkey, Zoran Marković, officially opened the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Serbia in Alanya tonight, in the presence of the Governor of the Alanya District, Fatih Ürkmezer, the Mayor, Adem Murat Yücel, and the Honorary Consul, Oktay Karaca.

Ambassador Marković pointed out that Alanya represents a very important region of Turkey with huge potential, as well as that more and more Serbian citizens visit it every year.

The ambassador said that he firmly believes that Oktay Karaca is the right choice for an honorary consul and that, with him at the head of the consulate, relations between our two friendly countries will improve, not only in the field of tourism, but also in all branches of the economy, where Serbia and Turkey have something to offer to each other.

In his address, Oktay Karaca pointed out that it was a great honor for him to be elected by the Republic of Serbia as an honorary consul in Alanya.

The honorary consul underlined that the function he will perform represents a privilege, but also an obligation to contribute to further deepening of relations between Serbia and Turkey, which the presidents of our two countries, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Aleksandar Vučić, also left their mark on with their personal relations.

The Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yücel, emphasized the importance of opening an honorary consulate of Serbia in Alanya, primarily due to cooperation in terms of tourism, as well as economic relations, emphasizing that this is the eleventh honorary consulate opened in Alanya.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior officials from Antalya and Alanya, honorary consuls, as well as representatives of the tourism and business sectors.
