Damascus: Legal Adviser Mojašević at the briefing of the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Syria

Legal Adviser of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to Syria, Marko Mojašević, attended the briefing of Imran Riza, UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Syrian Arab Republic.

The briefing was organised with the aim of informing foreign diplomatic representatives on the humanitarian situation in Syria, activities, programmes and results of work of different UN Agencies for the improvement of socio-economic status of Syrian citizens, providing donations and international assistance funds as well as extension of Resolution 2585 on cross-border humanitarian assistance.

Beside the members of the diplomatic corps in Syria, the briefing was attended by the representatives of the UN humanitarian agencies (UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, WHO, FAO, OCHA).

It was also a farewell reception of Imran Riza, who will complete a three year term of office as the UN Resident Coordinator. El Mostafa Benlamlih from the Kingdom of Morocco, former Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Humanitarian Coordinator for Haiti is expected to take over the office.
