Bucharest: Ambassador Tomašević with the director of the National Museum of Art
On that occasion, Ambassador Tomašević pointed out that the fact that Novi Sad and Timisoara will be European Capitals of Culture in 2022 and 2023, respectively, has a special potential for cooperation between the two countries.
As a positive example of cultural cooperation between Serbia and Romania, the ambassador cited the recently held exhibition of the Gallery of Matica Srpska in Timisoara, which was attended by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture Maja Gojković, and suggested that a similar joint exhibition of the Gallery of Matica Srpska be organized in the following period at the National Museum of Art in Bucharest, dedicated to modernism.
Ambassador Tomašević thanked the interlocutor for the reception and his readiness for cooperation and pointed out that Serbia and the Embassy keep cultural cooperation with Romania very high on the agenda.
At the end of the talks, he emphasized that the new Agreement between the two governments on cooperation in the field of education, science, culture, media, youth and sports, which is expected to be signed in the coming period, will further improve cooperation in the mentioned areas.
