Armenia: Charge d'affaires with Deputy Minister of Sports

The temporary chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Yerevan, Tatjana Panajotović Cvetković, met with Deputy Minister in charge of Sports Karen Giloyan at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

The interlocutors discussed the improvement of bilateral cooperation in the field of sports.

Panajotović Cvetković presented the potentials and successes of Serbia in terms of sports and interest in the development of sports cooperation, with reference to the attention that Serbia pays to the development of sports, sports education, infrastructure development, scholarships for the best athletes and creating conditions for the popularization of sports, especially among young people.

On that occasion, the interlocutors pointed out the mutual readiness to exchange experiences, organize friendly and exhibition matches, improve legal regulations and develop sports tourism.

Deputy Minister Giloyan thanked for the information and positively assessed the achievements of Serbia in the field of sports, noting that there is a rich sports tradition in Serbia, especially in team sports.

Also, Giloyan conveyed the interest of the Armenian side in strengthening cooperation, exchange of information on the experiences of Serbia, especially in the construction of sports infrastructure, examining the possibilities for sending Armenian athletes to Serbia for preparations and trainings.

The interlocutors paid special attention to institutional cooperation, exchange of high-level visits and opportunities for preparation of a bilateral agreement in the field of sports, which would define future sports cooperation and create conditions for Serbia-Armenia relations to be raised to a higher level.
