Ambassador Marković: Tourists from Turkey are welcome in Serbia

In his interview to the Turkish state info agency `Anatholia`, Zoran Markovic, Ambassador of Serbia to Ankara, stated that the mutual recognition of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine certificate has started today in order to lift travel restrictions between Turkey and Serbia and invited Turkish tourists to his country.

Ambassador Markovic, in his statement to the AA correspondent, stated that the most important point in the process that started two months ago is the mutual trust in health systems, "The practice will be very simple. All you have to do is buy a flight ticket with your vaccination card. One of the most important advantages of this practice is the age of 18 who cannot be vaccinated. six individuals will be able to travel with their parents. " he said.

Pointing out that Turkey and Serbia recognize the Covid-19 vaccines applied in their countries, Markovic emphasized that the two countries attach importance to health.

Markovic stated that as a result of the good relations between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vucic, relations between the two countries are at the best point in their history and that this mutual trust has easily allowed the implementation of the recognition of the vaccine certificates.

Explaining that Turkey and Serbia did their best for their citizens during the period when it was very difficult to reach the Covid-19 vaccine, Markovic said, "Vaccination in Serbia started with Sinopharm and in Turkey with Sinovac. With this practice, we want to emphasize that health has priority, to the type of vaccine." he spoke.

Markovic said that he received a large number of phone calls when the practice was announced, "Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is one of the routes most preferred by Turkish tourists. Turkey is a great holiday destination, especially for Serbian families with children. Everyone will be very happy with the recognition of the vaccination certificate."he  said.

Pointing out that the sector that will recover the fastest after the pandemic will be tourism, Markovic said, "People are tired of being closed, but the world will have to face different problems after the pandemic is over."

.Markovic, sent the message "Come to Serbia, welcome" to Turkish tourists, "We are waiting for you. Our hospitality is very close to that in Turkey. Come and see."
