Ambassador Bauer on strengthening of economic cooperation of Serbia and Morocco
Ambassador Bauer introduced his interlocutor to the current economic situation in Serbia, great investments in infrastructure in last seven years, the level of direct foreign investments attracted by Serbia annually, as well as macroeconomic indicators in last several years.
During the conversation, the Ambassador emphasized that our two countries were complementary in the attraction of investments, mentioning as an example the automobile cluster (car part producers), where a great number of the biggest world “component producers” have factories both in Serbia and Morocco.
Furthermore, he proposed the cooperation on the joint attraction of investments, where Serbia would be “the gate” for foreigner investors to the markets of Central and Eastern Europe and Morocco to the markets of Western Europe, as well as, after signing for master agreement, to establish the cooperation also at the level of regional and local developmental agencies, all with the aim of the promotion of economic relations of the two countries.
On this occasion, Ambassador Bauer handed to Youssef El Bari the Draft of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency and Serbian Development Agency.
The Director General of the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency expressed the willingness to have the Memorandum of Understanding signed in due course, indicating that both parties would work on it together.
