Political relations

Political relations between Serbia and Thailand are underdeveloped. Thailand recognised the unilateral declaration of independence in respect of Kosovo in 2013.

There has been no exchange of visits with Thailand at the highest level, and the last high-level visit was paid in November 2009, when the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vuk Jeremić, visited Thailand, where he met with the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kasit Piromya.

 

Economic relations

During 2020, Serbia and Thailand traded in goods the amount of 59.34 million euros (3.08 million of domestic exports), and in 2019, trade in goods amounted to 74.94 million euros (domestic exports 8.64 million euros).

 

Bilateral agreements

  • Trade Agreement between the Government of the SFRY and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand (signed on 27 February 1979; The Official Journal of the SFRY – International Treaties No. 12/80)
  • Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of the SFRY and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand (signed on 19 September 1979; International Treaties No. 9/1981)
  • Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic and Service Passports (signed on 4 December 2015; The Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia – International Treaties No. 4/17 of 30 May 2017).
