Political relations

Political relations are friendly and are based on the tradition of cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement.

The previous President of the Republic of Serbia, TomislavNikolić, decorated the then President of Madagascar, H. Rajaonarimampianina, with the Order of the Republic of Serbia on the ribbon in 2016.

Vice President of the Assembly of Madagascar J.J. Rabenirina participated in the work of the 141st session of the IPU Assembly, which was held in October 2019 in Belgrade. The then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia I. Dačić visited Madagascar on 15 – 17 May 2019.

 

Economic relations

In 2019, exports from Serbia to Madagascar worth 135.000 euros and imports from Madagascar worth 492.000 euros were recorded.

 

Bilateral agreements

SFRY-Madagascar trade agreement.

Date of signature: 27 August 1973.

Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Madagascar.

Date of signature: 16 May 2019.
