Political relations

Political cooperation between Serbia and Lithuania is at a good level. Lithuania supports the process of European integration of Serbia.

Former President of Lithuania D. Gribauskaite visited Belgrade on 18 May 2018 and had a meeting with the President of Serbia A. Vučić.

 

Economic relations

There is mutual interest and space for improving economic cooperation. In the period January – November 2020, the volume of foreign trade amounted to about 87 million euros, of which Serbian exports about 40 million euros, and imports about 47 million euros. Total net investments from Lithuania to Serbia since 2010 as of March 2020 are 4.1 million euros. The Lithuanian company UAB Texbaltic is one of the most significant investors in the field of textile industry in Serbia.

 

Bilateral agreements

There are 7 bilateral agreements in force, some of which are:

Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the FR of Yugoslavia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. Effective Date: 15 October 2001;

Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on mutual encouragement and protection of investments. Effective date: 2 December 2005;

Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on Cooperation in Combating Crime. Effective date: 15 May 2019.
