Political relations
Bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Liberia are traditionally friendly, and both sides have expressed interest in further developing bilateral relations. Diplomatic relations between the SFRY and Liberia were established in 1959, and the 60th anniversary of their establishment was marked in 2019. Liberia was among the first countries in sub-Saharan Africa with which Yugoslavia established diplomatic relations.
Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia on 1 October 2025, during which she met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić.
Gbezongar Milton Findley, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liberia, paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia from 20 to 22 June 2018. The Liberian delegation also included Eugene Lenn Nagbe, Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism.
In August 2018, Varney Sirleaf, then Minister of Internal Affairs of Liberia, met with Ivica Dačić, then First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, as well as with Branko Ružić, then Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, and S. Nedeljković, Assistant Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia.
Economic relations
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, total merchandise trade with the Republic of Liberia amounted to EUR 1.5 million in 2025, of which Serbian exports accounted for EUR 139,000, while imports amounted to EUR 1.4 million.
