Minister Đurić confers with the head of diplomacy of Austria

On the fringes of the ministerial meeting of the Berlin Process, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić had talks today with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg.

Minister Đurić noted that the relations between the two countries were very good, stable and comprehensive, emphasizing that regular meetings between top officials were making a significantly contribution in that context. The Minister expressed particular satisfaction with the fact that the two countries were marking a very important anniversary this year - 150 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations.

He highlighted that Austria was an extremely important economic partner for Serbia, pointing out the need to continue joint efforts to intensify economic cooperation in various areas such as infrastructure, energy, and IT.

The Minister thanked Austria for its clear and unequivocal support for Serbia's European integration, as well as for supporting the accession of the entire Western Balkan region to the European Union.

Minister Đurić informed his interlocutor in detail about the problems faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija due to the unilateral moves of Pristina.

On this occasion, the two ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Serbia and the Government of Austria on reciprocal access to the labour market for family members of members of diplomatic missions and consular posts.
