Poreč: Consul General Petrović at the "Days of Serbian Culture in Poreč" event

In cooperation with the Serbian Cultural Centre in Istria and under the auspices of the city, the community of Serbs in Poreč and the Council of Serbian National Minorities of the City of Poreč organised an event called "Days of Serbian Culture in Poreč" on Vidovdan (Saint Vitus Day).

The Vidovdan meetings of Serbs in Istria were also part of the event, within which, an exhibition of the painter Ingrid Družeta entitled "Ča je i ča ni" (What Is and What Is Not) was held in the Serbian Cultural Centre in Pula.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Poreč, Elio Štifanić, the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Rijeka, Goran Petrović, representatives of Serbian organisations and associations, as well as representatives of all national minorities living in the area of ​​Poreč.

Welcoming the attendees, Consul General Petrović praised the organisers and the work of the Community of Serbs in Poreč, thanked the city administration for supporting this event and emphasised the importance of all activities aimed at nurturing the traditions, customs and history of the Serbian people, especially in the context of Vidovdan, which our nation marks and celebrates with the greatest dignity and piety.

He pointed out that the Consulate General of Serbia is always ready to provide support or specific help in all activities carried out by our community in the jurisdictional area of ​​the representative office aiming at preserving the identity of the Serbian people in the broader sense.
